("Co-operative Union of Natal Societies") A union founded on 24 May 1917 to unite all the debating and youth societies then active in Natal. It came about chiefly through the initiative of the Pietermaritzburg Debats- en Letterkundige Vereniging, and was active also for many years in promoting amateur theatre in Natal.
