Robert S. Smythe

Robert S. Smythe (1833-1917) [1]. A theatrical agent in Australia, who arranged Mark Twain's [2] tour around the world (described in Following the Equator) - including the section to South Africa. He and his son (Carlyle Smith) also handled a number of other tours to the country.
