Panics
by Robert Kirby. The title and theme are based on a citation of a pamphlet by Thomas Paine published in 1776.
Awarded the IGI Life Vita 1991/1992 Regional Award for Best Script for both the Cape and Natal regions and the author won the IGI Life Vita 1991/1992 National Award for South African playwright of the year.

Performance history in South Africa
1991: Performed at the National Arts Festival in 1991, starring Michele Scott and Graham Hopkins who also directed the play.
1991-2: A Gaudeamus Productions production was directed by the author at the Baxter Theatre (July-August 1991), the Market Theatre (October 1991), National Arts Festival (June-July 1992), starring Graham Hopkins, Michelle Scott, Robert Kirby, Graham Weir (replaced by Frantz Dobrowsky in subsequent productions) and Sello Maake Ka-Ncube. Setting and lighting by Denis Hutchinson.
1992: Presented by NAPAC at The Drama, January 1992 starring Graham Hopkins, Shirley Ellis, Robert Kirby, Frantz Dobrowsky and Sello Maake Ka-Ncube.
