Nthati Moshesh (19*-). Multilingual actress (English, Afrikaans, Sesotho, isiZulu, isiXhosa and Setswana) on stage and screen.

Biography

Youth

She was born in Katlehong on the East Rand and matriculated at the St Andrews Girls’ School in Bedforview, Johannesburg.

Training

Nthati studied drama at the Natal Technikon in Durban. She considers the actor Patrick Shai as her role model.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her first paid role on stage was in Nanti's Miracle presented by the University of Natal.

Other stage roles were in The Blacks, Nothing but the Truth (2002), The Lion and the Jewel (as the Jewel, State Theatre Pretoria, 2008), MacBeki (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 2009).

She played Thabile in 7de Laan, Lerato in Egoli and appeared in the television drama series Home Affairs.

Film roles were in, among others, Pride of Africa, Kini and Adams, Deafening Silence, all in 1997 and in The Long Run (2001)

Awards, etc

She is a winner of a SAFTA Award.
