Nkoto Malebye (1986-). Actress, playwright and singer from Mpumalanga.

Biography

She started her singing career at the age of five and she was lead singer of a gospel choir for two years. She attended the National School of the Arts, in Braamfontein, where she took part in A Free State, Janet Suzman's adaptation of Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard, and the musical The Rainbow Child.

She is the lead vocalist of the Kwani Experience.

In 2006 Malebye had in her professional debut in Ain't Misbehavin'.

She has written and staged her own play, My Daddy Loves Me, winning awards for best director, best original music and best set design in the National School of the Arts Original Works Festival. In 2007 she played the lead in Soweto Story.
