Nape Motana

Nape Motana (1945-), part-time playwright, poet, novelist and full-time social worker from Pretoria. His name is also written Nape'a Motana.

He wrote The Honeymoon is Over in 1995. This play was staged at the Civic Theatre in Johannesburg during 1996. An extract from a play entitled Just because I'm an artist was ublished in Staffrider, 2(2):47-48. 1979.

NELM holds a Playscript [Typescript (photocopy)] of a play entitled A Tale of Two Rubicons. (NELM Location: [Collection: UCT DRAMA]: 2004. 17. 2).

He wrote the fiction works Hamba sugar daddy (2016), Son-in-law of the Boere (2010) and Fanie Fourie's Lobola. The latter was turned into a feature film (script by Janine Eser and Henk Pretorius), released in 2013.

He was the secretary-treasurer of the African Writers' Association.

Member of the Gauteng interim Arts and Culture Council; chairman of the Greater Pretoria Forum for Arts. Culture and Heritage 1997.
