Miss Borcher

F.C.L. Bosman (1980, p. 263) lists a Miss Porcher as an amateur performer and a "family member of one of the soldiers" of the 99th Regiment, who on occasion performed in plays. The only soldier mentioned is Sergeant Vincent Borcher, hence this is probably a misspelling and the lady in question was most likely to have been a Miss Borcher.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While the regiment was stationed in Cape Town in the years 1868-1869, she apparently helped out in female roles for the Lanarkshire Dramatic Club.
