Miss Beaumont (fl 1860s) was probably an amateur actress in Cape Town

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She is mentioned in the programme for Ray and Cooper's Christmas Pantomime of Little Jack Horner, or Harlequin A.B.C. on 26 December, 1865, being listed as a "member of the Fairy Court". She is also mentioned later as one of the actresses brought in to replace Mrs Ray and Mrs Smith as regular members of the Ray and Cooper company while in Cape Town, the two ladies having been considered unsatisfactory as actresses.
