Melisizwe Community Theatre

Melisizwe Community Theatre is a Soweto based community theatre company.

The company and venue used by them is also referred to as Melisizwe Theatre

The company

"Melisizwe" is Zulu word for "community representative". It is community based theatre institution registered as a nonprofit generating Organization

Founded in 1982 by Darlington Michaels and McIntosh Khoale and began their work with the play The Eye (1982-1984), which they co-wrote, directed and acted in.
