Maurice Schwartz

Maurice Schwartz (1889-1960) [1]. Actor and manager active in the United States. He specialised in translations of English dramatists, including Shakespeare, and the great Russian classicists.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He lead the Yiddish Art Theatre Company [2] which ACT brought from New York to His Majesty's Theatre in 1954.
