PIETERSE, Marléne (19**- ). South African actress, stage director and Speech and Drama teacher in Port Elizabeth.

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As an actress:

Agnes of God ("Mother Superior") at The Barn (2005)

Macbeth ("Duncan") at the Port Elizabeth Opera House (2006)

She also appeared in the film version of The Road to Mecca (1991).

As a director:

Showtime 2004 - Flying Colours at the Port Elizabeth Opera House (January 2004)

Die Proponentjie at the Little Theatre (2011)

Ma Skryf Matriek at the Savoy Theatre (2025)

As an Arts educator:

Pieterse is the founder and principal of Stageworld Theatre School in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth)
