Maria, Moeder van God ("Mary, Mother of God") is an Afrikaans passion play by Adam Small ()

The original text

This was Small's last play, a piece about Mary, the mother of Jesus.

The play is a poetic rendition of the known (and lesser known) aspects of the life of Maria and her son from birth to passion and crucifixion. The tale is retold by four main characters, Maria and her husband Josef, and Pontius Pilate and his wife Claudia Procula. Many other voices are then used to provide the context.

The text published by Naledi, Cape Town, in 2015.
