Makwedini Julius Mtsaka (fl. 1970s-1980s) is a playwright, performer and director.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Became a member of Imitha Players of East London in 1970. Performances for them include local adaptations of Sophocles’s Oedipus Rex, Soyinka’s The Swamp Dwellers, Moliére’s The Miser and work by Sartre.

He wrote (and sometimes directed) the plays Not His Pride, The Last Man, Meko, Member of Society.

He directed a production of The Sacrifice of Kreli at the Market Theatre in 1987.

In 1989 he was one of the adjudicators for the Grahamstown Schools Drama Festival.
