Louis de Villiers (1923-2005) was a celebrated professor of chemical pathology and an Afrikaans playwright.

Biography
Born Louis Scholtz de Villiers in Arcadia, Pretoria, on 12 February 1923,
Passed away on 5 March, 2004 in Hermanus on the Cape Coast.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Besides his worek as a medical doctor, lecturer and respected researcher, he was the author of numerous highly popular Afrikaans one-act and full-length plays, especially used by schools and amateur companies. One of the authors who responded to the encouragement of DALRO to produce works for schools and amateur groups in the 1960s.
His play Ou Bokke en Groen Blaartjies ("Old goats and green leaves") opened the Kroonstad Theatre in 1976.
