Lohn der Wahrheit
Lohn der Wahrheit ("Wages of the truth") is a German play in five acts by August Friedrich Ferdinand von Kotzebue (1761-1819)[1].

Performed in Weimar at the Hoftheater, 2 December, 1799. Published in Leipzig 1801 by Kummer in the collection Neue Schauspiele vol 5. Das neue Jahrhundert, Das Epigramm, Lohn der Wahrheit.

Translated into Dutch as Loon der Waarheid by Jan Steven van Esveldt Holtrop and published in Amsterdam by J. W. Smit, 1801.
Performances in South Africa
1845: Performed in Dutch as Loon der Waarheid by the combined company, Het Privaat Hollandsch Tooneellievend Gezelschap playing under the combined motto Tot Nut en Vermaak en Door Yver Vruchtbaar, in the Hope Street Theatre, Cape Town on 3 December, with as afterpiece Uilenspiegel (Lembert).
