Leier van die Volk ("leader of the nation") is an Afrikaans one-act play by Jac J. Brits (1932-).

The original text

The play is set in an isolated area in the mid-1800s, the drama caused by the conflict between two leaders of their respective communities. Published in Tydskrif vir Letterkunde, 10(1):72-81, 1960.
