L.J. du Plessis (1897-1968) was a South African academic, author, translator, and compiler.
Born Lodewicus Johannes du Plessis,
Translated Sophocles's Oedipus Rex into Afrikaans prose as Koning Oidipus (published in Pretoria by J.L. van Schaik, 1928, performed by students of the Potchefstroom University College in 1927.
