Biography
He was born and grew up in Johannesburg, Gauteng, the son of Pieter Hauptfleisch, the well-known stage and radio actor of the 1960s-70's, and Marie Schutte, a published author.
He attended Vorentoe High School (1973 – 1977), then went to the Rand Afrikaans University (UJ) to complete a BA in Languages.
His brother is Gus Hauptfleisch is company manager and a part-time radio TV actor, presenter and voice-over artist.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He had a short career in film in the 1980s, appearing in Sterretjie (1982. Playing "Hannes Verster" and billed as Conrad Hauptfleisch), Skooldae (1984. Playing "Jan du Preez" and billed as Konrad Hauptfleisch) and in the equally popular TV Series Vyfster 2
