Biography
Bergh was born in Springs. Studied with Ethné Ferraris and at the National School of the Arts.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Joined PACT Ballet in 1991. His roles include Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty, the title role in Le Spectre de la Rose, the pas de trois in Swan Lake, Gurn in La Sylphide, Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew, the Jester in Cinderella, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, the Peasant pas de deux in Giselle, Basilio in Don Quixote, Camille in The Merry Widow, Andrei and Napoleon in War and Peace, Shah in Pappillon, Colas in La Fille mal gardée, Oberon in The Dream, Crassus in Spartacus and roles in Agon, Ballet Imperial, In the Glow of the Night, Paquita, Carmen and ‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Café.
In 2001, Bergh was one of the founding members of South African Ballet Theatre.
Awards
In 1993 was placed second in the Sanlam International Ballet Competition and in 1994 reached finals of the 6th Paris International Dance Competition. Recipient of award from DALRO.
