Kelsey Middleton (1959-). Dancer, choreographer and actress.

Biography

Youth

Born and raised in Pretoria, she went to Afrikaans Hoër Meiseskool.


Training

Took dance classes and completed the B.A. (Hons) Drama at the University of Pretoria Drama Department.


Career

A founder-member of a number of companies over the years (Movement Inc., the Performing Arts Modern Dance Co., the PACT Dance Co., the Freeflight Dance Co.. Founder of the Kelsey Middleton Academy of Dance Professional Company) .

As stage actress she worked for PACT Playwork (1981), PACOFS and Taubie Kushlick.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Performed in Die Drie Van Der Walts, Germanicus. Her performances also include Joe Maziel not at the Palace (1982), Charlie se Tante (1983), Huis op Horings (1985), and The Seven-Year Itch.

For radio she did i.a. Agent 0-00AG, Die Sonpyl (1982-3) and many Radioteater (Radio Theatre) productions, while television performances include Die Roep van die Visarend, Skooldae, Mattewis en Meraai (1982), Koöperasiestories (1983-4), Koedooe kom Terug (1984). Film roles in Verkeerde Nommer (1982), Boetie Gaan Border Toe!, Vyfster: Die Slot and Wie die laaste lag (1986).
