Kalldewey, Farce

Kalldewey, Farce is a German play by Botho Strauß (or "Botho Strauss" in Anglicised form, 1944-)[1].

The original text

Originally written in 1981 and variously called Kalldewey Farce, Kalldewey, Farce or Kalldewey: Farce in sources. Published in 1981 by Carl Hanser Verlag, it was premiered on stage on 31 January 1982 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, directed by Niels-Peter Rudolph.

Performance history in South Africa

1990: The Booysen/Potgieter translation Callaway Farce was staged by PACT, directed by Dieter Reible, with André Odendaal (The Man), Jacqui Singer (The Woman), Mitzi Booysen (K), Ilse van Hemert (M) and Tjaart Potgieter (Callaway).

1991: The Booysen/Potgieter translation Callaway Farce was staged by CAPAB, directed by Marthinus Basson, starring Fiona Coyne, Megan Kruskal, Elma van Wijk. Nominated for several Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards.
