John Higgins (1940-2001) was an Australia-born actor, director, producer and dialect coach. (See brief biography in Variety Magazine, 15 December 2011 [1].)
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Performed in The House of Blue Leaves, Charley's Aunt, 6 Rms Riv Vu and Veronica's Room.
He starred in Leonard Schach production of Robert Patrick’s Kennedy's Children together with Bess Finney, Erica Rogers, John Rogers and Lynn Hooker for The Company at the Chelsea Theatre in 1975. Together with Joe Stewardson he produced John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men starring Stewardson, Ken Gampu, Don Leonard and Diane Appleby at the Lake Theatre in 1975.
