Leader of a French amateur society from 1806 and of Tot Nut en Vermaak from 1809 till 1826, in which year he started up yet another society, Door Yver Vruchtbaar. Between 1825 and 1826 his son, J.G. Tredoux jnr. also became the first director of the new children’s society (Tot Oefening en Smaak) which his father had probably collaborated with J. Suasso De Lima in founding.
