Hanli Rolfes

Hanli Rolfes (1971-) is an actress and writer.

Biography

Born on 5 April 1971, she studied drama at the University of Pretoria, graduating with an Honours degree in 1994.

She was married to actor, director and playwright Deon Opperman, from 2002 to 2010.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her stage work has included roles in Boesman my seun (2005), Twaalfuurwals (2006), Kaburu (2007) and Knypie Oppie Kant (2008).

She became particularly well known for her work in film and TV, both as actress and as scriptwriter.

Her TV career started with Die Laksman in 1994, and went on to include roles in major South African productions such as Generations, Villa Rosa, Kruispad, Binnelanders, Getroud Met Rugby (which she also co-created with her husband Deon Opperman), Vetkoekpaleis, Egoli, 7de Laan (later working as scriptwriter for the soap), Iemand om lief te hê, Jozi Streets, 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, Askies!, Soul City, Skeem Saam, Hartland and Geraamtes in die Kas, Meisies Wat Fluit and Siende Blind..

It also included a number of international series, e.g. Justice For All, The Adventures of Sinbad,

Films appearances have included roles in Sleeper's Wake (2012), Molly & Wors (2013), Assignment (2015), 'n Pawpaw Vir My Darling (2015), Verskietende Ster (2015), Sink (2015), Mignon Mossie van Wyk (2016), Twee Grade van Moord (2016) and Sonskyn Beperk (2016)
