Gideon de Wet (1963-) is an actor, dancer, mime artist and director.

Biography

Born on 4 July 1963, he has had a wide range of training in the various forms of the performing arts, including a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama (UCT, 1983-86), UCT Ballet School, mime with Sammy Molco (Austria), clowning with Roy Bossier (Austria/Italy), singing with Sarie Lamprecht, and modern dance with Jazzart, Pace Dance, Robyn Orlin, Kim Thackewray, Marlene Blom and others


Gideon has a Performer's Diploma fro UCT's Drama School and has studied ballet at UCT's Ballet School, mime at the Summer Aademy in Austria andclowning at the Theatre Studio in Rome.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He has appeared in Dancing into Darkness, Sunrise City (1988), The Knock on the Door, Elephant of Africa, Liefdeskringloop, Die Van Aardes van Grootoor, Thina Bantu - We People, Dinner at the Monkey House, M. Butterfly, Score Me the Ages, In-Mates (1990), The Nuns, Hellhound (1992).

He has directed The Vineyard.

Film work includes A Private Life and Operation Weissdorn.
