Elaine Davie is a Speech and Drama teacher, performer and writer/editor for the stage and a wide variety of printed and broadcast media.

Biography

Went to Pretoria Girls' High School (1953 - 1957), and then attended the Maas-Phillips Speech and Drama Studio, receiving the LTCL (Licentiate, Trinity College of London) in Speech and Drama Speech and Drama (1958-1959) and also took John Linnegar's Basic Copy Editing and Proofreading course 1958 - 1959

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and performance

Performer and teacher

Among her stage and performance activities have been Make-up Artist for the EOAN Group's Opera Company, volunteer Speech and Drama teacher,

Freelance Writer and Editor

She was freelance performer and script writer for radio as well as a writer and editor in a wide variety of media, including TV, magazines, NGO Annual Reports and other publications.

Community involvement

She has been involved in the management of four NGOs, in the fields of child care and philanthropy and did other fundraising projects and NGO consultancies. Projects include UCT's Shawco project in Windermere township, Cape Town and her role as fundraiser and PRO for Camphill School, Hermanus, from May 2012 onwards.
