The Dramatic Recital Society was an amateur society active in Cape Town in the 1870s.

Besides dramatic recitals they also put on the occasional play, usually as part of a benefit evening and in collaboration with other organizations, such as players from the local garrison or professionals like Disney Roebuck. For example, in 1878 they did the pantomime Beauty and the Beast (featuring Baby Benson), The Spitalfields Weaver and War to the Knife (Byron).
