Dit voel leeg is an Afrikaans South African translation by Hugo Taljaard of the play It Felt Empty When the Heart Went At First but It Is Alright Now by the British playwright Lucy Kirkwood.
The original text
The play tells the story of a victim of human trafficking — one of millions of modern-day slaves and of the hundreds of thousands of people trafficked across borders each year.
Performance history in South Africa
2012: Staged at the US Woordfees, Stellenbosch, directed by Henry Mylne, in the Klein Libertas Teater, on 9 and 11 March, on the Sanlam Dramafees programme. The cast was Kim Cloete and Chanelle Davids.
