Die Koster ("The beadle") is an Afrikaans TV drama by Kobus Louw and Hélène de Klerk , based on a novel by Pauline Smith.

Based on the 1926 novel The Beadle by Pauline Smith (1882–1959)[1], the story was adapted and scripted as an Afrikaans TV drama by Kobus Louw and Helene de Klerk and directed by Stephan Bouwer for SABC TV in 1978. The cast included Cobus Rossouw, Annelisa Weiland, Wilma Stockenström, Isobel Pienaar, Ken Leach, Annelize van der Ryst, Cobus Visser, Willem de la Querra, Anna Cloete, Pietro Nolte, Antoinette le Roux and Spokie Fourie.

Cinematography by Jean Delbeke, editing by Gretchen Holzapfel, makeup Christine Olivier, assistant director Malinda Nel, set design Marlene Prinsloo and final mix Willie du Toit

Broadcast on 3 April 1978.
