Die Uur van die Rooi Maan ("The hour of the red moon") is a one act Afrikaans play by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969).

Not to be confused with Die Uur van die Rooi Maan, a novel by Wille Martin (1934-2016), published by J.P. van der Walt en Seun, 1973[1].

The original text

A play about a girl with spiritual powers who enters the hereafter in the company of her deceased love.

Published by Nasionale Boekhandel Bpk in Malherbe's collection Die Uur van die Rooi Maan en Ander Eenbedrywe in 1950.

Copy of a typed copy of the text, found in the Stellenbosch Drama Department archives in 2022. (No author is indicated, but interestingly, a handwritten note by Temple Hauptfleisch suggests that it may have been by someone using the pseudonym "Ferox", and that the text had been donated by Helen Brent[2] in 1988).
