Dianne Chandler (born circa 1940). British-born actress, cabaret star.


Biography

She was born and raised in Leeds and moved to South Africa in 1975. In the late 1990s she settled in Franschhoek with her husband, Derek Hannan, until 2002.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She played the lead in Evita in 1981. She starred in the opening production of Pieter Toerien’s Leonard Rayne Theatre namely Side by Side by Sondheim together with Andre Hattingh and Eric Flynn, who also directed, on the 18 July 1983. She starred in Jerry's Girls directed by Jimmy Bell for Pieter Toerien at the André Huguenet Theatre in 1986. She starred in We'll Meet Again at the Sound Stage in October 1989. She performed her cabaret Unhinged in 2002.
