Les Jardiniers
Les Jardiniers ("The gardeners") is a musical comedy[1] in two acts by Bertin Davesne (fl. 1765-1774)[2] with music by M. Prudent.

The original text
First performed in Paris by the Comédiens Italiens Ordinaires du Roi, on 15 July 1771 and shown at court in 16 December 1771. Published in Paris at La Veuve Allouel, Quay des Gévres in 1772.

Performance history in South Africa
1803: Performed in French in the African Theatre by the Het Fransche Liefhebbery Geselschap under the leadership of C.M. Villet on Saturday 15 October with Le Tonnelier (Audinot).
