Le Nouveau Signeur du Village
Le Nouveau Signeur du Village ("the new squire of the village") is a French opéra-comique[1] in one act with words by "MM..." and music by François Adrien Boieldieu.
"MM..." refers to the authors Auguste (pseud. for the baron Auguste François Creuzé de Lesser) and baron Jean François Roger. In some editions the name of M. de Favières (Edmé-Guillaume-François de Favières) is also added to the list of authors.

First performed in Paris at the Théâtre Royal del Opéra-Comique by Les Comédiens ordinaires du Roi on 29 June, 1813. Published in Paris by J.N. Barba, 1815, printed by François Hocquet.
Translations and adaptations
Translated into Dutch as De Nieuwe Landheer, of De Gewaande Marquis ("the new squire, or the imagined marquis"), a comedy with music ("blijspel met muziek") by Martinus Gerardus Engelman. First published in Amsterdam by Van Kesteren in 1819.
Performance history in South Africa
1870: Performed in Dutch as De Nieuwe Landheer, of De Gewaande Marquis in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 10 November, with Het Laatste Levensuur van een Oranjeklant (Arnold).
