De Goede Hoop ("The Good Hope") is the title of an Afrikaans cultural journal established in 1903. Founded and edited by J.H. H. (Jannie) de Waal and the first number featured a play under the pseudonym "Jannie (presumably De Waal himself).
Each issue gave prominent coverage to the amateur dramatic societies, including portraits of them in costume. The magazine became a leading feature of the second Taalstryd ("Language Struggle") for Afrikaans and was very influential in the establishment of Afrikaans Theatre throughout the country.
