Performance history in South Africa

1867: Performed in early March by the Robben Island Amateurs in the small theatre at the Asylum on Robben Island. The text was possibly written by an inmate or staff member for the occasion. Also performed were songs (including the traditional Irish/Celtic song, Brian O'Lynn - wrongly given as Brian O'Lunn by Bosman or his sources) and Bombastes Furioso (Rhodes).
