David Viviers

David Viviers (1993- ) is a South African actor.


He obtained a BA-degree in Theatre and Performance with distinction from the University of Cape Town Drama Department in 2014.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His theatre performances include Klara Maas Se Hart Is Gebreek, The Maids, Raiders, Salt, Twelfth Night at the Macbeths, Die Buffel (Chekhov), Mephisto, A Lie of the Mind, Know Void, Song of Solomon, Mirakel (De Wet), Much Ado About Nothing and Cry Havoc (Coash) .

TV work includes Black Sails (TV Series)

Film appearances include Rebel Rose (Video short, 2015), Kanarie (2018) and Love Runs Out (2019).

Awards, etc.

In 2014 he received the Standard Bank Ovation Award for his performance in Salt at the National Arts Festival and in 2016 received a Kanna Award for Best Debut Work (which he shared with Wessel Pretorius) at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK). In the same year he was the recipient (with Buhle Ngaba) of a Brett Goldin Bursary.
