Danie Stander () is an academic and lecturer.

Biography

Born Daniël Botha Stander.

He studied at the Stellenbosch University, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Drama in 2011, an Honours degree in English in 2012, his Master’s degree (cum laude) in 2016 and his Doctorate in English Studies in 2019.

In 2014 he received a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

His research focuses include: life narrative studies, literary biography, translation studies, queer, gender and feminist translation theory, theatre and performance studies, canon studies, historiography and South African literature and history.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He has written numerous articles on aspects of South African theatre, with a major focus on Reza de Wet. Other fields of interests are portrayals of women and on translation.
