The play was written as a commissioned work for the SABC.

Published as a solo text by Afrikaanse Pers Boekhandel in 1961, and included in Drie Hoorspele ("three radio dramas") by N.P. van Wyk Louw, with an introduction by Roy Pheiffer. Published by Perskor in 1982 and 1986.
