Crux was a prominent South African academic and professional journal focused on the teaching of English.

Often cited as Crux: A Journal on the Teaching of English or CRUX: A Journal on the Teaching of English (ISSN: 0250-0035)

The journal

Published three times a year by the Foundation for Education, Science and Technology (FEST). It provided educators and scholars with research, methodologies, and discussions focused on English Second Language (ESL) teaching and learning in South Africa. It also published numerous articles on aspects of drama and drama in education.

The journal is referenced in major linguistic and educational studies from the 1970s through the late 1990s.
