Clowns Without Borders South Africa (CWBSA) is an organization that promotes innovative, creative, and evidence-informed interventions that support the psychosocial wellbeing and protection of children and families affected by crisis and adversity.

The organization

After a meeting with Moshe Cohen from Clowns Without Borders USA[], Jamie Lachman set up CWBSA as the South African branch of the international movement over a period of three years (2004-2006). The South African project offers arts-based and playful programmes using drama, physical theatre, clowning and music, seeking to reduce violence against children and provide psychosocial support to vulnerable families in low- and middle-income countries.

In 2007, CWBSA was officially registered as a non-profit organisation in South Africa.
