He wrote many radio plays, of which some were adapted for the stage, such as The Summer House. He wrote the libretto for The Coming of the Butterflies, a radio opera with music by Stephen O'Reilly.

He also wrote a stage adaptation of The Snow Queen.

He appeared on stage in A Woman of No Importance, The Ascent of F6, Twelfth Night, or What You Will (1949, Labia Theatre).

He wrote Huberta - a Happy Journey with a Sad End for the SABC, with incidental music by Hubert du Plessis.

He wrote Baboon! for the SABC, based on the book "Burgers van die Berge" by Eugene Marais, with incidental music by Stephen O'Reilly (the SABC Orchestra conducted by Edgar Cree).

Awards, etc

His radio documentary A Leaf, a Tree, a Hill, a Cloud was awarded an Academy prize in 1982.
