Bruce Palmer
(19**-19**) British set designer.
Trained as a designer, he worked in repertory theatre in England, where he met and became the companion and friend of Nigel Hawthorne, a tempestuous relationship that lasted over 25 years. He died in 19**.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Palmer accompanied Hawthorne on his return to South Africa in 1957. While in South Africa he worked as designer on a number of theatre productions for Leonard Schach, including Look Back in Anger (1957) and Try for White (1959). He also worked inder contract for Alpha Films in Johannesburg , producing commercials. He returned to England in 1963?*.
