Bon Appétit! is a short opera by American composer Lee Hoiby.

The original text

Based on Julia Child’s decadent chocolate cake recipe, this musical monologue is a transcription of one episode from the 1963 TV documentary The French Chef.

2024: Presented by Cape Town Opera as a part of Suidoosterfees at the Artscape (29 April – 1 May), performed by Janelle Visagie and pianist José Dias.
