Bébé

Bébé is a French comedy by in three acts by Émile de Najac (1828-1889)[1] and Alfred-Néoclès Hennequin (1842-1887)[2].

First performed at the Théâtre du Gymnase, Paris, on 10 March, 1877. Published by A. Allouard, 1877.

Translations and adaptations

Adapted into English as Betsy by F.C. Burnand (1836–1917)[3].

First performed in London on August 6th, 1879.

Performance history in South Africa

1893: Performed in English as Betsy in the Vaudeville Theatre, Cape Town, by the Emilie Bevan Comedy Company, in April.
