Arnold Vosloo (1962- ) is a South African stage and film actor,

Biography

Born in Pretoria on 16 June, 1962, he took some drama courses at the Pretoria Technikon .

He became a naturalized American citizen in 1988 and settled there, to do stage work in New York and later becoming a film actor in Hollywood. Internationally known for his name role in The Mummy series of horror films and other action movies.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

His first appearance on stage was in the Market Theatre production of Torch Song Trilogy in 1984, and he then went on to perform for PACT and other companies. Among the plays he appeared in are Don Juan onder die Boere (PACOFS, Sand du Plessis Theatre, 1985), Miscarriage of Murder (Pieter Toerien, 1986). *

He quickly became famous in South Africa as a film actor, notably for his performance in Boetie Gaan Border Toe! (1984).
