A. Burnet

A. Burnet (17**-18**) was a businessman and possibly also an amateur performer. Also listed as Anth. Burnet and was possibly the Anthony Burnet listed in the Dutch Reformed Church Registers in 1803 as the husband of Anthoinetta Margaretha Van Der Lith, and father of Margaretha Anthoinetta Burnet. He may also have been a relation (father?) of W. Burnet, who acted for C.E. Boniface's society, Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense. He is also be the Anthony Burnet listed by Ross (1819) as a ward master of Ward 29 in Cape Town in 1819.

At his offices at Loop Street 87 in Cape Town he sold tickets performances, including those of De Papegaay (Von Kotzebue) by the new Dutch company Tot Leering en Vermaak (5 March, 1803) and De Elfde Junius, of De Algemeene Betaaldag (Holberg) by the Tot Nut en Vermaak (29 July 1809).
