A Match in the Dark is a comedietta in one act by Charles Dance (1794-1863)[1].

First performed at the Theatre Royal Olympic on February 21, 1833, and published in London by J. Miller, 1836

Performance history in South Africa

1867: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, by the Madame Duret and the Le Roy-Duret Company (of which she was the sole manager at the time) on 15 July, with The Four Sisters (Bernard) and Was I to Blame? (Rodwell).
