As a student at the University of Cape Town Drama Department he performed in Little Malcolm and his Struggle against the Eunuchs in 1967.

He was involved in workshopping Orestes with Athol Fugard and Yvonne Bryceland for the CAPAB Laboratory. Then worked for The Space on People are Living There, Bar and Ger, Dimetos, The Glass Menagerie, Medea and Occupations. **

Plays include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (CAPAB 1969), Tango (1970), Hadrian the Seventh (1971), Romeo and Juliet (1972), Marat/Sade aka The Persecution of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade (1976), People are Living There (1977), Absurd Person Singular( 1977), Luv (1977), El Grande de Coca Cola for PACT in 1979, Lone Star and Pvt.
