She was born and educated in South Africa.

Career
She started her professional career in England. She worked in Durban for two years as leading lady for the Lyric Theatre. (circa 1960). She left the theatre in 1962 to work exclusively for commercial radio, acting and scriptwriting.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She played Portia in the Children's Theatre open-air production of The Merchant of Venice at the Zoo Lake in the summer of 1957. They did another performance of this play at the Donaldson Orlando Community Centre.
Other roles include Look Who's Here (a revue, Lyric Theatre), Affairs of State, The Whole Truth (1957), A Shot in the Dark, The Birthday Party, The Madwoman of Chaillot.
Her first engagement for PACT was as Lady India in Ring Round the Moon in 1964.
