(b. **/**/**** - d. **/**/****).  Actor.  Tom Zulu and [[Goba]] were the first credited black actors to appear in a South African film, but while Goba had at least something of a career with [[African Film Productions]], the imposing Tom Zulu made just one appearance, albeit in the pivotal role of the Zulu king Dingane (Dingaan in the credits) in [[De Voortrekkers]] (1916), directed by [[Harold M. Shaw]].  At this stage nothing else is known about him, not even if Tom Zulu was his real name. (FO)
